Cleveland Flats Wedding
It felt just like yesterday, when we were just two childhood friends getting together, spending our days with out a worry in the world… we met in fourth grade and were inseparable. Days were spent playing in the pool, jumping on pogo sticks, having constant sleep overs at each others house even though we only live a street away from each other, making weird toasted bread (I think we called them croutons, but seriously it was just white bread with butter in a pan) and playing a made-up game of volleyball and soccer combined. That is the friendship that Katie and I had. I got to know her for exactly who she is and was. She was kind, caring and compassionate. She was always there no matter what and made sure that even after I moved that we still kept in touch. She has all the traits that make a wonderful person and I couldn’t have been happier to have her as my friend. Katie and I have known each other since we were only about 10 years old. Now some 18 years later I couldn’t have been more thrilled to watch my best childhood friend marry the love of her life. I know that without a doubt her and Adam make a fantastic couple. They both seem to light up any room they walk into.
I have never seen her look more radiant and happy than she did while we spent some 3 hours at Starbucks talking about the wedding plans, she was smiling ear to ear the moment she got to the church and saw him at the end of the church aisle. Adam, just the same, his smile couldn’t be contained from the moment he saw her walking toward him in her princess like dress. I have never witnessed two individuals with such big smiles. You could just see the love shining through them. Never once did that smile dissipate while they were in each other’s company. The wedding day started with laughter included some tears, followed by more laughter, huge smiles and many wonderful organic and sincere moments, I can not even begin to tell the story of these two. This day filled with so much love from both sides of their family. Katie looked absolutely stunning, her dress from La Blanca’s in Olmsted made her look just like a princess. I know her Dad was looking down smiling at his baby and how gorgeous she looked, and I know how proud he was to have Adam as his son-in-law.
Katie and Adam, Thank YOU so much for allowing me to be there to capture these special moments and to capture your amazing love for each other. Your love and joy for one another is infectious and inspiring. Your families are wonderful and amazing and I know this is just the beginning of your love story… I can not wait to see the rest as I know it is going to be wonderful and amazing. I was truly an honor and I could not imagine spending this day with any two other people.
I know that her Dad would be so proud and in awe at how gorgeous she looked. He was certainly watching down from above on this beautiful day.
Every guest at the reception stood while Katie shared a special dance with her Brother Michael in memory of her father Jeffrey. There was not a dry eye in the room including my own. What a special way to remember someone so near and dear.
